These rollers go by various names, including chill rollers, heated rollers, water rollers, and chill rolls, depending on the user or manufacturer. Typically, a “chill roller” is designed to cool or “chill” a product. In contrast, “heat transfer roller” is a more general term that refers to rollers capable of either heating or cooling a product. In some applications, a single roller may serve both functions, allowing a customer to use it for cooling one day and heating the next, depending on their specific needs.
